The Spartans then scored two minutes into the sudden death extra period.
Plainfield bows out 11-9-3.
“It was a hard-fought game, as you would expect between an eighth and ninth seed,” said Plainfield coach Steve Schermerhorn.
“Our guys played extremely hard.”

Plainfield, which finished at 10-9-3, had goals from Pat Molinari and Chris Chung (his 22nd of the season).

Plainfield rallied from a 2-0 deficit behind goals from Chris Chung and Pat Molinari. The Wildcats finish 11-9-3.
