Mindful Media & Coaching

In 2020, my significant other and I started up a mindful media and integrative coaching endeavor called Forces of Equal, where we combine our interests in science, philosophy, and storytelling to advocate for functional health and well-being.

We began experimenting with a podcast called Practice (with CK), which I describe as “a stoically-reflective, self-coached, real-time-work-in-progress adventure of agile-podcasting, freetalking, perspective-taking, and over-hyphenating.”

We also have a more prepared podcast called Not Bad Advice where we provide practical life advice delivered with a sense of humor and a side of intuition.

We are currently in the process of developing several related podcasts. More details to come soon!

Health & Performance

In 2016, I began utilizing my knowledge and experience in marketing along with my passion for health to start up Evothrive – a program based on a synthesis of evolutionary, psychological, and behavioral sciences that is intended to spread awareness of our innate human capabilities and enable anyone to easily realize their health potential.

I have since continued developing my functional health and performance coaching practice for individuals and groups, cultivating chronobiopsychosocial infinitude via Functional Systems Integration.

Innovation Consulting

I have been a member of a brain trust called ProdigyWorks since 2017. There, I contribute in select innovation brainstorming projects, which includes the development of research insights and collaboration with other Prodigies to help bring outside thinking to companies, brands, and organizations looking to tap into a diverse global network of high-level outside thinkers.

We solve complex problems, create disruptive innovation, and name new products for some of the world’s best-loved brands and a range of leading CPG, food & beverage, tech, healthcare, and financial services companies.

Search Exposure Optimization

I began dabbling in online marketing during my college years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational & Corporate Communication in 2003, I’ve had the pleasure of developing my craft with award-winning agencies and a global conglomerate, performing search engine optimization for websites from the local business level to the worldwide brand level.

My experiences led me to branch off on my own, and I have been optimizing businesses to a state of WEBOSIS since 2007.

Intellectual Propagation

I have been a member of the Orange County chapter of American Mensa since 2007. I have been our chapter’s webmaster since 2012.

Strategic Advising

I like to apply my marketing experience, web skills, health knowledge, and business acumen in various ways to help causes I care about. These include organizations in the realms of health, education, and sports. I may receive compensation for some of these efforts, but many are non-profit ventures that I volunteer my time to.

Semi-Functional Soccer

I played soccer at a minor league level with Buena Park FC and competed with professionals occasionally from 2014-2019. I was the oldest player on my team by over six years and exceeded the average age by over a decade. Even so, I was the most consistent player, I recorded the most games played, and I was among the top goalscorers.

I’ve been on hiatus since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Spring of 2020, and am currently considering my future athletic pursuits. I feel like I may have one more competitive push in me for soccer, but I am also feeling a strong pull toward the trailrunning hills. Of course, I could do both…

A little bit about me:

I am a first generation Korean-American. I was born in the great Chicagoland.

I grew up in Plainfield, Illinois where I made a name for myself playing soccer and performing music at the original PHS. I graduated in 1998 and went off to play NCAA Division-1 college ball at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, while trying to study Information Systems and International Business. I eventually ended up in DeKalb, Illinois where I graduated in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in Organizational and Corporate Communications at Northern Illinois University.

After college, I moved to Southern California where I began my career in digital marketing. I became my own boss in 2007.

Today, I strive to do work in digital media and functional health that will make the world a better place. I currently live in Southern California with my significant other, with whom I’ve been conspiring since 2009.
