I’m constantly debating with some co-workers who are Colorado State alumni about which conference is at the top of the “mid-majors”. After that bowl game all of my talk of the history of the MAC and “rust-belt football” in the midwest went to shit as a bunch of Baptists from the Mountain West Conference clearly showed us who’s boss.

It’s funny that you say that because Paula and I were quite pleased with the halftime show at the game. Both NIU and TCU marching bands were fun to watch. The bowl organizers also lit up the sky with a pretty sweet fireworks display!

I think the Pride of the Midwest, the Huskies Marching Band would have provided better entertainment last night instead of the football game. How come they don’t show the bands anymore? They can’t even give a snapshot of the band.

Years ago half-time entertainment was provided by the school bands. Last night, I could care less about Kobe Bryant’s activities during ESPN’s half-time show. Lou Holtz was a bore and needs his dentures adjusted.

The game was a wake-up call to NIU, if you want to go to bowl games and play with the big boys, then field a team that can get the job done. It makes one question the level of competition in the MAC. We love the Huskies just the same! When are they letting the dogs out?
