Watch subject. Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
What happened to us, people? When did we become such lemmings?
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!

As I child I never believed Pluto was a planet because my dad told me it was incredibly small, so far removed from the Sun that it was coated in ice, and that its orbit was tied to Neptune.

I still don't think it should be considered a planet. It isn't gaseous like the Outer planets, it doesn't host life or have a chance in hell to do so; it isn't so close to the sun so that it's burning hot, it doesn't have rings around it or huge storms that last over 300 years...

Do you hear someone singing...?

"One of these things is NOT like the others"

That's right. And guess what? There are other Solar System Bodies that are Pluto's size! Should we count them as planets? I don't think so. Do they do anything that our 8 planets do? No. There are plenty of things that are attracted to the Sun's gravitational pull, floating space-rocks included. Doesn't mean they're planets.

And if you taught a child inaccurate information, wouldn't you want to correct yourself? Aren't you glad that we don't treat people with leeches anymore, or teach that Egypt was the first civilization when in fact Mesopotamia came first?

Pluto is a anti-social dwarf with a heart of ice. It doesn't care if it gets demoted to solar system body. And neither should you.

I strongly object to the demotion of Pluto by a small group of scientists voting based on very narrow criteria. There is no way I will accept this decision. If children I know are taught in school that there are eight planets in our solar system, I will correct this misinformation and teach them that there are nine (at least). This is revisionist history that would make George Orwell proud. Pluto orbits the sun and has three moons. The requirement that its orbit be on the same plane as Earth's is just one more example of human arrogance. In the long run, I believe this decision will be overturned. In the meantime, please count me in as an advocate who will do whatever I can to restore Pluto's rightful place in our solar system.

Alright. Seriously. Would having pluto reinstated as a planet change your life? Would it affect your way of living? Would it make you feel good? Personally, no offence, but this seems like a giant waste of time. There are better things you guys could be doing than signing a petition to get a lump of ice the title of "planet", Very well knowing it will get no-where. Sex is good.

In today's inclusive society where we are encouraged to accept people from other countries, how can we put up new barriers to limit the size of our solar system. How would we feel if the people on Mars were to decide that Earth for some reason was no longer eligible for participation - indeed, how do we know they have not already done so! For 76 years, Pluto has been a welcomed and accepted part of astronomy and now it is thrown out in a manner not too dissimilar to schoolyard bullies. The International Astronomical Union should hang their heads in shame - elitest, sizeist, bullies! Bring back Pluto!!
