The homestretch! Where my ‘stache didn’t bother me at all before, I’m starting to become more aware of this hairy thing on my upper lip now. I trimmed my chin and sides last week, but they’ve grown back to about where they were before. I’ma look ridic with just the ‘stache at the end of the week. Stay tuned!
I hate shaving! I haven’t been clean-shaven in years… maybe almost a decade! I’ve also never grown my facial hair out for more than maybe 10 or so days… and it isn’t pretty. My girlfriend isn’t thrilled about it, but I will be growing out my mustache through the month of November to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. At least she gets to see my bare face for the first time! 🙂
Christopher McDougal, the author of Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen, wrote another piece about barefoot running in the New York Times yesterday. There is a lot of background about barefoot running in the article, but the meat of the article is McDougals discovery of the 100-Up exercise, which helps get you into the proper barefoot running form.
I had always related fasting with religion. I had never thought about it as a lifestyle or in terms of nutritional science. That is until my girlfriend chose not to eat for an entire day.
